GPC-1000 – DIY Folding Knife Parts Kit – USA Design The GPC-1000 (Gent’s Pocket Carry) is a locking liner folding knife kit designed for the hobbyist that likes a sleek, more stylized design. This new pocket knife kit is made of the same high quality components as our other knifekits.com designer series exclusives, but offers the maker the widest choice of modification. It is designed to look good as a “high-tech” piece, with standard micarta, G-10, or carbon fiber scales. Or as a “high-finish” model with materials such as pearl, exotic woods, and with embellishments on the liners and bolsters. This folding knife kit is a premium kit product. All parts and fittings are precision machined. The liners on this pocket knife kit are stainless steel and heat treated. The ball detent is in place, the lock is pre-bent, and the entire assembly has been personally inspected before shipping. The blade steel on the GPC-1000 is AUS-8 and has been cryogenically treated to 56-58 rc. The blade come in standard satin finsh.The GPC-1000 does not come pre-drilled on the bolster or liners for a pocket clip. This was done because of the pocket carry size of the folder, and to address our kit builder community’s desire to embellish the look of the knife, such as adding engraving to the bolsters. However, we offer the largest selection of pocket clips on the market, and have many models that work very well on this knife.Note: Completed kits with handle scales and backspines (shown above) are for completion demonstration only.
