Western Hunter - DIY Knife Making Kit - USA Design The Western Hunter is a tapered tang fixed blade design with a slip over guard/bolster. It is 10.50 inches in overall length and features a 5.25 inch blade length that measures 1.25 inches at its widest point. The blade on the Western Hunter is 0.20 inches at the thickest point. The blade and handle tang on the Western hunter are both tapered for weight reduction and balance. This design includes (6) 0.120 tang holes for handle attachment with (6) matching 1.50 x 0.120 inch stainless steel pins. The stainless steel slip-over guard has (1) 0.065 mounting hole with a matching stainless steel 1.5 x .065 inch pin for attachment. Properly built, the Western Hunter tapered tang fixed blade knife kit will produce an heirloom quality personal hunting knife that will last and serve for years.
