Made in England in the late Victorian period [circa 1891-1905] England after 1891. Impressed on the reverse with Minton’s globe stamp. this authentic Minton tile displays a crisp transfer printing and rich cobalt blue coloring making it an attractive piece for collectors of English ceramics, architectural tiles, or blue and white decor.
Hard-to-find round tea tile or trivet made by Copeland Spode in the blue version of the “Spode’s Tower” pattern. Features a cobalt blue and white transferware landscape scene with traditional floral border. Has the old version of the Copeland Spode mark on the back (incised and printed), indicating that it was manufactured in the early 20th century. Measures 6″ in diameter and about 3/4″ thick including the foot. In very good condition, no chips or cracks, has a couple of brown scuffed rough marks on the side and light scratching on the front…neither of which is visible on display. Beautiful old piece for a blue and white collection!
