I have for your consideration a 18th Century Spanish TALAVERA Majolica Shallow Bowl. Tin glazed earthenware. Painted with bold foliage forms. Having a stylized bush or tree in center, surrounded by a multi- foliage banding.
NEVER HAS ONE PIECE ARRIVED WITH A PROBLEM ! THE BRISSARD WAS FIRST MADE IN THE REGION OF NORMANDY. THE POTTERY HERE IS THE 23D SMALLEST OUT OF 5 SIZES. THEY WERE USED FOR CARRYING ON THE BELT FOR CARRYING A NUMBER OF LIQUIDS.
The plaque reads “THOMAS MYATT TITTENSOR 1892” (photo 7). Applied pheasants and flowers decorate the pot over a glossy brown Rockingham glaze. It is in great condition overall. The big teapot itself is excellent with only one small flake to sawtooth rim of pot (photo 21).
This exquisite piece features the highly collectible and traditional “Garofano” (Carnation) pattern, beautifully hand-painted with vibrant reds, blues, greens, and yellows against a classic glazed white ground.
THIS SIZE VERSION OF THE SAVOIE JASPE SOUP BOWL WAS MADE IN ANNECY. A SCOOCH OVER 6.5+. GLAZE COLORS WERE SIMILAR BUT THE SPIRAL DESIGN CHANGED BY THE WHIM OF THE POTTER. 18TH C COLORS CHANGE IN LIGHT AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS!
Small Crocks or Jar Holders labeled “Love Faith Peace” Brown Lettering and Scroll Rim Design in a Beige Earthenware Ceramic. Unglazed areas are inside, and there is crazing present on glazed areas intentionally as part of design.
THIS IS A 19TH C KITCHEN POT THAT WAS USED FOR FRUIT PRESERVES. THE LIGHT YELLOW GLAZE IS THICK AND IN GREAT SHAPE. I SEE MANY ON EBAY BUT THEY ARE ALL MID-LATE 20TH C. THIS ONE HAS THE AIR OF TIME. H 5.5+ INCHES Elias Tray Jaunes et Vertes French Antique Glazed Pottery
