These Gold Star Lapel Pins are unused in the original box. They are stamped on the back : ACT OF CONGRESS, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 1 AUGUST 1947. The 5/8″ pinback gold pin is encircled with a laurel wreath, with a round purple circle inside with a gold star in the center. These were given to the surviving family member of the war hero.
