Mount Fuji is, at 12,389 ft, the highest mountain in Japan. The name Fujisan is spelled out in kanji on the left of the medal. The symmetrical shape of the mountain, with the snow-covered peak and the cherry blossoms in the foreground, make for a beautiful and colorful medal and a worthy recognition of an impressive accomplishment.
