The red mark on the underside states “Oriental, W.R.”. This antique English red transferware dinner plate has a shiny red transferware pattern and nice color. There is a very tight 1 3/8″ hairline perpendicular to the rim, which is very difficult to detect on the top side of the plate.
The Association with Oneida: In 1983, Buffalo China was acquired by Oneida Ltd. Oneida retained the iconic Buffalo logo and the factory in Buffalo, New York, producing this heavy, durable vitrified china.
