This is the earliest and first version of the 342. It was fully made out of celluloid and had a cork gasket. Also, it is probably the rarest of them, as the resin pens were much more common. On the later 342/ 3-42, montblanc first introduced a resin barrel and a celluloid cap, then made them fully out of resin.
