FREE Fully Insured Priority Mail Shipping ANYWHERE in the USA!   Here we have the famous Fairbairn Sykes British Commando Knife — guaranteed NEW and GENUINE.  Made by John Nowill & Sons, these knives are marked with the MOD’s (Ministry Of Defense) broad arrow mark and the Diamond “H”  F.E. & J.R. Hopkinson MOD manufacturer’s mark along with “J. Nowill & Sons Sheffield England” on the underside of the fingerguard.  Again, this item is GUARANTEED authentic.  This is the highly coveted KNURLED GRIP model and is very hard to find. The Commandos were formed during 1940 at the strategic directive of Winston Churchill and following a suggestion to the War Office by Captains W.E. Fairbairn & E.A. Sykes they were equipped with a new style fighting knife in early 1941.  This particular design of the F-S knife is a tribute to the Second Pattern Commando Dagger that has withstood the test of time. The 7″ long, double edged carbon steel blade is Parkerized to a rich, beautifully deep black color.  These knives come from the factory with a factory unsharpened edge — the soldier to whom the knife was issued was to perform his own sharpening of the blade.  The knife is 12″ long overall.  The metal handle is KNURLED for an excellent grip. The black leather leg sheath (the leather tabs on the side of the sheath were designed to be sewn to a pant leg) is metal-tipped to protect both the wearer and the blade’s tip, and also has a pair of 2-1/2″ belt slots — the slots will fit most belts up to 2″ wide, allowing for the thickness of the belt itself.
