It is a good choice for blades that require heavier cutting applications because it has very good edge holding ability.. This blade was oil tempered to a Rockwell hardness of 58-60HRC. The blade was professionally sharpened at 25 degrees resulting in an extremely sharp and durable edge. The handle is made of buffalo horn with steel bolsters, pins, and pommel. This is a brand new knife, and includes a custom handmade leather sheath.
