Vintage 1900’s to 1920’s FRESH EGGS PAPER POSTER SIGN Grade A Large J. Fachinger, Lanesville, Ind. Notice the “Date Candled” section. Prior to electricity, eggs were held to candle light for inspection. Since the eggshell is transparent, the light from the candle underneath the egg would let you see if a biddy was growing inside. Prior to selling your eggs and by law, you had to post the date when inspected. The “Date Candled” section is where the date would have been written. These were used almost daily by farmers who sold their eggs by the roadside. Old Vintage Sign ready to frame. Please see and enlarge Photo. Photos are part of the condition and provide Detail. Approximate: 11” X 9” Condition: There is Browning and can be minor edge tears. Guaranteed Old & Original Packed securely & shipped USPS w/tracking Thanks!!!!
