Quartz and Calcite From Unknown Dimensions: 50x27x23mm John Awald was a very prolific collector who specialized in unusual quartz specimens. He wrote much on the their various unusual habits and associations. This was one of his specimens which unfortunately came to me with no label whatsoever. The quartz is very nice but what I believe interested him is the fact that it is associated with such a nice rhombic calcite crystal. My guess would be from somewhere in the Northeastern US.
