For sale is a German “bathing beauty”, this is an antique bisque porcelain “bathing beauty” figurine standing in the classic arms-raised / hands-behind-the-head pose. Approximately 4-5 inches tall. White/cream bisque body with hand-painted facial features, glossy black molded hair, and a blue-trimmed two-piece bathing costume with molded straps. Attribution: This is the popular molded-hair, painted-suit type produced by German (Thuringian) makers such as Hertwig & Co. of Katzhütte in the early 20th century, c. 1915–1935. Stamped “Germany” on the base. Condition: Normal age-related imperfections, like dust gathering, light crazing. Possible(?) minor chip on the base (in photo of Germany stamp).
