This stein was made in the 1850s – from 1852 to 1858. It is made of Parian porcelain so popular at the time with a sterling silver lid. The Bennington Museum calls this pattern Paul and Virginia. Highly-glazed white porcelain (Parian.) Palm tree pattern. Large palm trees and other leafy plants on the bottom, and extending up from it. The handle has same leaf design. Stippled background. Widest at the bottom, narrows towards the top.” The stein is in excellent condition – no cracks, chips or any kind of damage or repairs.
