It’s an oval marquetry panel of a prowling tiger in a jungle scene — bamboo stalks and a palm frond on the left, tall grasses, a riverbank, and distant shrubs, all rendered entirely in inlaid wood veneers of different natural tones (pale straw, honey brown, deep umber, near-black) rather than paint. The tiger’s stripes, whiskers, and facial markings are cut and shaded through the wood grain itself, with a darker burl or wood section used for the shadowy area near the palm top left. There’s some age-related wear.
