This is an original set published in 1934 and they are in Very Good Condition. You are buying from one of the largest stockist of cigarette and trade cards in the UK. American boys and girls struck the visitor as being “boisterous, aggressive and self-assertive”, whilst “a Scottish baby is born with the reek of peat in him”. In Connemara, Ireland “Many schoolboys wear petticoats for protection against bad fairies” and in India “the birth of a baby girl is regarded as a calamity. In this unusual series, the outline of each subject has been die-cut on three sides so that the picture can be pushed out if desired. Size 68 x 36mm.
