Excellent condition with some minor storage wear. Dates and makers vary, all are 1943/44 contract. Will be picked at random from top of the stack first. These are “Transitional” model because they feature parts made in the OD7 (green) material which was being phased in 1943. Factories continued to use remaining OD3 (tan) materials until stocks ran out, hence the color combination as shown. A pretty neat piece of history!
This is a RAF Magnetic Compass that came from an Estate Sale. There is a 1951 date painted on the side. Compass seems to be in nice condition. The pointer dances around and points to approximately magnetic north, using my phone as a reference. The wood box is in rough condition……the bottom is made from plywood and is delaminating. Inside the bottom has delaminated and a small piece is missing.
