The story of Charles Peterson is inextricably linked to the name of George and Frederick Kapp, two brothers from Nuremberg who, having emigrated to London, began producing pipes in 1865. After their separation, in 1874 Frederick moved to Dublin and opened his own business, where two years later the young and talented Charles Peterson, who immigrated to Ireland from Riga (Latvia), began working making briar pipes to order. With the untimely death of both Kapp brothers, Peterson acquired shares of the company, renaming it “Kapp & Peterson”, hence the initials “K&P” on its creations. From that moment on, his creations conquered the international market not only for their extremely high level of quality, but also thanks to two inventions that decreed the undisputed success of the brand for ove.
