Collectible Fixed Blade Knives

Vintage Our Lady of Kazan Russian Icon. Made of 925 silver and printed paper faces on wood backing. See photos taken through loupe to show 925 mark under a “W” next to a face or animal (?) figure. Also there is a separate W mark with what looks like a cross above it. Silver is tarnished consistent with age, but this is a beautiful, intact piece. Measures about 2.5” high and 2” wide.

This icon depicts Our Lady of Kazan, which was famously discovered in the ruins of the city of Kazan in 1579 after a young girl saw the Virgin Mary in a dream. She is seen as a powerful protectress and is beloved in the Russian Orthodox Church. The Icon is on wood, and is hand crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail using a combination of varnish, and mechanical printing techniques. The wooden panel’s sides feature a beautiful, aged, gold weathered finish, with a natural thread string loop attached to the back so it can be easily hung. Measures: 4.0 x 3.75 x 0.25 inch. Made in the United States.
